SALT LAKE CITY — Patients at Shriners Children’s Hospital participated in a different form of “therapy” Tuesday afternoon.
The luau was a fun chance for child patients at the hospital to celebrate summer with events like dancing, face painting and even a rock wall.
It is not the first time the hospital has put together a fun event or activity for the kids. They say that is all part of their patient’s physical and emotional therapy.
“When they come here we want them to socialize. We want them to feel good,” said recreational therapist Andrea Mather. “The nice part about rec therapy, what we do here, is they don’t realize that they’re having therapy.”
