It all adds up for Shriners Hospitals

Ryan Goldammer
Ryan Goldammer is surrounded by boxes and buckets of the can tabs he collected for one year. The total came to more than 750,000 tabs, weighing approximately 500 pounds and raising $205 for Shriners Hospitals for Children.

ONE Shriner Can Make a Differance

Sanford Institution for Savings recently made a donation of $729.19 to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
The money was raised by employees during the bank’s monthly “Jeans Day for a Cause” fundraiser.
A different charity is selected for each month, and the staff works together to choose charities.
Ryan Goldammer requested a jeans day and bake sale to raise money for Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Born with a spinal birth defect, he credits the hospital for giving him the opportunity to walk and lead a productive life. As a member of Shriners, he works to raise both awareness and funds for the hospital.

Goldammer is also involved in “Can Tabs for Kids,” a fundraising endeavor where he collects aluminum can tabs throughout the year and turns them into a designated redemption center. Proceeds are then sent to Shriners Hospitals in Springfield and Boston, Mass.

Several companies, including Sanford Institution for Savings, are working with Goldammer  to collect can tabs. His recent yearly donation came to $205, which the bank agreed to match.   The jeans day and bake sale were held in July.
