JT Shriners Hospital for Children Open Tournament Oct.18-24,2010

Dear Supporters,
A belated Happy New Year to you and your families. Our 2009 Champion Martin Laird got off to a wonderful start in the season opening SBS Championship with a T4 on the Plantation Course at Kapalua Resort in Maui, Hawaii. Keep an eye on Martin as we wish him success this season and look forward to his defense of the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open Title this coming October 18-24 at TPC Summerlin, Las Vegas.
When we last corresponded I had reported on our 2009 growth, as well as alluded to programs scheduled to launch in early 2010. I am happy to report that our current progress has surpassed our initial expectations and we are optimistic that we will see continued growth in the months to come.
Our Charity Ticket Fundraising program begins on February 2nd with an informational meeting scheduled to take place at TPC Summerlin. With nearly 200 Las Vegas and Southern Nevada charities contacted, we are pleased to report that we received RSVP's from over 15% of those charities. The structure of the program is such that we should see modest success in year one, but that the program should explode as groups become more familiar with their best sales practices and future expectations are enhanced by previous lessons learned. If you represent a charity or have a group that you support, ask them if they have received our invitation and if not, please urge them to contact the tournament office as soon as possible.
Upcoming Important Dates:
February 2nd - Charity Ticket Fundraising Meeting
March 1 - Tickets on Sale (via www.jtshrinersopen.com)
March 1 - Volunteer Registration Active (via www.jtshrinersopen.com)
Our plan is to keep our communication open, and frequent, as there is much to be excited about as we enter our third tournament together. This is the first of our monthly newsletters which will serve to inform and educate you, our tournament family, over the course of the year. Next month, we will update you on our expanded efforts with the Clark County School District, a proposed Walk-a-thon to take place during our event, as well as the work being done to enhance the spectator experience at our 2010 event this fall!
Until next month...
